Melee Diamonds Guide: mm to Carat Charts & Pricing

Melee are the small diamonds that make a pavé band, a halo, a tennis bracelet or an eternity ring. Each one weighs a fraction of a carat, so the trade buys them by size and parcel rather than one report at a time. Size is quoted two ways: in millimeters across the girdle, and in sieve sizes from the screens used to sort parcels. Our size charts convert between the two and give the carat weight each size should come in at.

Guru Diam sells lab-grown and natural melee to jewelers, retailers, designers and manufacturers. Our lab-grown melee is CVD Type IIa. We match melee to within 0.05 to 0.10 mm, so a row of pavé sits level and a tennis line reads as one even strand. There is no minimum order, and orders placed before 6 PM ET ship the same day from New York.

The articles below answer what buyers ask most often. The size charts tell you what size and total carat weight a setting needs. The grading articles explain how color and clarity work at this size, and when a grade difference is worth paying for. If you're choosing between natural and lab-grown for a line, the comparison articles cover cost, durability and what you have to tell the customer. The pricing articles explain how parcel pricing differs from buying certified diamonds one at a time.

Natural melee has its own set of articles. They cover how natural parcels are graded and matched, sieve sizes and pricing for 2026, which grades suit bridal, halo, eternity and tennis work, and how to screen a natural parcel so lab-grown melee or simulants don't slip in. The lab-grown articles cover calibrated sizes, fancy color melee, and how fancy color melee is matched and graded. If you're quoting a halo or an eternity band, start with the article on calculating the total carat weight a design needs, then check the size chart for the mm size and the price guide for the grade.
