Frequently Asked Questions
Everything wholesale buyers need to know about partnering with Guru Diam — from account setup and inventory access to custom orders and shipping.
Getting Started
New to Guru Diam? Here's how to open a wholesale trade account and start sourcing certified lab-grown diamonds and finished jewelry.
How do I register as a wholesale buyer?
Click the "Register" or "Apply for Trade Account" button at the top of gurudiam.com and fill out the short application form. You'll be asked for basic business information, your resale certificate, and the types of diamonds or jewelry you typically source. Our team reviews every application personally, so you'll hear back quickly.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
There is no strict minimum order for certified loose stones — you can purchase a single diamond or an entire parcel. For private-label and custom jewelry production, minimums depend on the design and metal — share your project details and we'll confirm what's feasible. Reach out to our team on WhatsApp at +1 (201) 969-5916 to discuss your specific requirements.
Can I browse the inventory before registering?
Yes. You can view our diamond categories, shapes, and general specifications — plus our finished and custom jewelry collections — on the website without logging in. However, wholesale pricing is only visible after your trade account is approved and you're logged in. This ensures our B2B pricing stays exclusive to verified trade partners.
Do you work with individual jewelers or only large retailers?
We work with everyone in the trade — from independent jewelers and custom designers to established retailers, manufacturers, and e-commerce brands. Whether you need a single center stone for a bespoke engagement ring or ongoing bulk supply for production, Guru Diam is built to serve businesses of every size.
What's the difference between buying loose diamonds vs. finished jewelry from Guru Diam?
Loose diamonds give you full control over setting and design timeline — ideal if you have your own bench or setter. Finished and private-label jewelry means we handle everything in-house: stone selection, casting, setting, and polishing, delivered ready to sell under your brand. Many of our trade accounts use both — sourcing loose stones for custom work and ordering finished pieces for retail-ready inventory.

What documents do I need to open a trade account?
You'll need a valid government-issued photo ID, your business license or resale certificate, and a brief description of your business (website, storefront, or social media presence). If you're an independent jeweler or designer working under your own name, a portfolio or professional reference can substitute for a business license.

Diamonds & Inventory
Details on our certified lab-grown diamond selection, growth methods, and how we keep our inventory fresh.
Are all diamonds IGI or GIA certified?
The majority of our diamonds are IGI certified, which is the leading certification body for lab-grown diamonds. We also carry GIA-certified stones for buyers who prefer that grading standard. Both certifications follow the same rigorous 4C grading criteria used for mined diamonds, so you can purchase with full confidence.
What is the difference between CVD and HPHT diamonds?
CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) diamonds are grown from a diamond seed in a controlled chamber using carbon-rich gas at moderate temperatures — this is Guru Diam's primary production method. HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) diamonds replicate the natural conditions deep within the Earth using extreme pressure and heat. Both methods produce real diamonds that are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined stones; the choice often comes down to availability and specific color or clarity preferences.
Do you carry natural (mined) diamonds?
Yes. While our core focus is lab-grown diamonds, we also supply natural diamonds for buyers who need them. We apply the same quality standards to both categories — consistent grading, transparent pricing, and reliable supply. Contact our team to discuss natural diamond availability.
How often is the inventory updated?
Our online inventory of 11,000+ stones is updated in real time as diamonds are added, sold, or reserved. New parcels arrive regularly from our cutting and polishing facilities. You can also sign up for WhatsApp inventory alerts to be notified the moment new stones matching your criteria become available.
Can I request specific specifications not shown in the inventory?
Absolutely. If you need a particular carat weight, color, clarity, or cut that isn't currently listed, our team can source or cut it to your exact specifications. We offer custom diamond cutting where master artisans hand-cut and polish each stone using a combination of traditional techniques and cutting-edge technology. Send us your specs via WhatsApp at +1 (201) 969-5916 or email at [email protected] and we'll provide a timeline and quote.
What diamond shapes do you offer, including antique and exotic cuts?
Beyond standard round, oval, princess, and cushion cuts, we specialize in antique and exotic shapes — hexagon, kite, moval, half-moon, and other calibrated fancy shapes — plus fancy color stones in yellow, pink, blue, and green. If you need a shape or size that isn't currently in stock, our custom cutting team can produce it to your exact spec.
What is the largest carat weight you carry?
Our standard inventory includes certified lab-grown diamonds up to 10+ carats across multiple shapes and quality grades. For stones beyond our current stock range or exceptionally large custom requests, we can arrange special production. Reach out to discuss your needs and we'll let you know what's possible.

Ordering & Pricing
How pricing works, payment options, and tools to streamline your purchasing workflow.
How do I see wholesale prices?
Wholesale pricing is visible only to approved, logged-in trade account holders. Once your account is set up, every diamond in our inventory displays its live wholesale price, including per-carat pricing and any applicable volume tiers. This protects our partners' margins and ensures pricing remains exclusive to the trade.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes. We offer competitive pricing on bulk orders and parcel purchases, with discounts that scale based on quantity and order frequency. Whether you're buying melee assortments for manufacturing or certified center stones for a bridal line, our team will work with you to build pricing that supports your business goals.
Can I reserve a stone while I decide?
Yes. We offer both short-term and long-term memo services that let you hold or borrow stones before committing to a purchase. Short-term memos are ideal for showing a diamond to your client; long-term memos work well for retailers building a curated in-store selection. Contact our team to arrange a memo based on your needs.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept wire transfers, ACH payments, checks, and major credit cards. For established accounts, we may extend net payment terms based on order history and relationship. All transactions are processed securely. If you have a preferred payment method not listed, contact us and we'll do our best to accommodate.
How does the WhatsApp inventory alert work?
Save our WhatsApp number +1 (201) 969-5916 and message us with your preferred specs — shape, carat range, color, clarity, and any other criteria. Our team will send you curated alerts whenever matching stones are added to inventory. It's a fast, personal way to stay ahead of new arrivals without constantly refreshing the website.
Can I download your full stock list?
Logged-in trade account holders can export our full diamond inventory as a downloadable spreadsheet directly from the website. We also offer API integration for retailers and platforms that want to sync our live inventory feed directly into their own systems. Contact us at [email protected] for API access and documentation.
Melee & Parcel Diamonds
Specs, sizing, and how our calibrated melee parcels are sorted and priced.
What is melee and how is it different from certified loose stones?
Melee refers to small calibrated diamonds (0.8mm–9.0mm) sold as parcel goods rather than individually certified stones. We quality-control every parcel in-house against a DEF+ color, VS+ clarity baseline, with tight dimension and weight tolerance — if a parcel misses spec, we recut before it ships. Certified loose stones (0.30ct+) are a separate product tier with individual IGI/GIA paperwork.
What melee shapes and colors are available?
Round brilliant melee in the 0.8mm–9mm range, plus fancy calibrated shapes — emerald, radiant, pear, marquise, and other shapes on request. We also carry fancy color melee in yellow, pink, blue, and green, available in both round and fancy shapes. All melee is CVD-grown.
Custom & Jewelry Manufacturing
From bespoke diamond cuts to private-label finished jewelry production — how our custom and manufacturing services work.
Can you create custom diamond shapes?
Yes. Our custom diamond cutting service can produce virtually any shape — from classic rounds and ovals to antique cuts, fancy shapes, and proprietary signature cuts. Each stone is hand-cut and polished by master artisans, then inspected for quality before delivery. Share your vision and we'll provide a detailed quote and timeline.
What is the turnaround time for custom jewelry?
Standard custom jewelry orders are completed in 4-6 business days from design approval. More complex pieces — multi-stone settings, elaborate pave work, or intricate vintage reproductions — may require 2-3 weeks. We provide CAD renderings and 3D previews for your approval before any metalwork begins, so there are no surprises.
Do you offer private label / white-label jewelry?
Absolutely. We offer full private-label and white-label services, including custom branding, engraving, branded packaging, and drop shipping under your business name. This is ideal for retailers and e-commerce brands that want to offer a curated jewelry line without managing production in-house. Our team handles everything from design to fulfillment.
What metals do you work with for custom pieces?
We work with 14K and 18K gold (yellow, white, and rose), platinum, and sterling silver. All metals are ethically sourced. If your design calls for a specific alloy or finish — such as brushed, hammered, or blackened rhodium — our craftsmen can accommodate that as well. Metal selection is part of the custom consultation process.
Can I send my own design for a custom piece?
Yes. You can send us sketches, reference photos, CAD files, or even a rough idea described in words. Our in-house CAD and 3D rendering team will translate your concept into a detailed digital blueprint and photorealistic preview for your review. We refine the design through as many revision rounds as needed before production begins.
Do you provide samples or prototypes before a bulk order?
Yes. For private-label and bulk custom orders, we provide a CAD rendering and 3D preview before any metalwork begins, and can produce a physical sample piece for approval on larger production runs. This lets you confirm fit, finish, and stone placement before committing to full production.
Will my private-label designs stay confidential?
Your private-label designs, specifications, and branding are used exclusively for your account — we don't reuse or resell them to other buyers. If you're working on a sensitive project and want a formal confidentiality agreement in place, reach out to our team to discuss.

Shipping & Returns
Fast, secure delivery from our NYC Diamond District and Los Angeles offices — plus a straightforward return policy.
How fast is standard shipping?
Orders placed before 3:00 PM ET are dispatched the same day from our New York City office. Standard domestic delivery takes 1-3 business days via insured, trackable carriers. We also offer next-day delivery for urgent orders in major metropolitan areas. Contact us for same-day hand-delivery options within the NYC Diamond District.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We ship worldwide to verified trade accounts using secure, insured international carriers. International orders typically arrive within 3-7 business days depending on destination and customs processing. All shipments include full insurance coverage and tracking. Our team handles the export documentation so the process is seamless on your end.
What is your return policy?
We offer a straightforward return window on loose certified diamonds — stones must be returned in their original condition with all certification documents within the agreed timeframe. Custom-cut diamonds and finished jewelry are generally non-returnable unless there is a quality or specification discrepancy. Contact our team before returning any item so we can arrange secure shipping and a prompt resolution.
How are diamonds packaged for shipping?
Every diamond is individually secured in a sealed gem parcel, placed in tamper-evident packaging, and shipped in a discreet, unmarked box with no external indication of contents. All shipments are fully insured and require a signature upon delivery. For private-label and drop-ship orders, we can package under your brand with custom boxes and inserts.
Certifications & Quality
How we grade, certify, and guarantee every diamond that leaves our office.
What certifications do your diamonds carry?
Our diamonds are certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI) and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) — the two most respected grading laboratories in the world. Each certificate details the diamond's carat weight, cut, color, clarity, and additional characteristics. IGI is our primary certification partner for lab-grown diamonds, as they are the global leader in that category.
What is a Type IIa diamond?
Type IIa diamonds contain little to no nitrogen impurities, making them among the purest and most chemically clean diamonds in existence. They exhibit exceptional optical transparency and brilliance. Less than 2% of mined diamonds are Type IIa, but many high-quality lab-grown diamonds — including those in our inventory — achieve this purity level because they are produced in carefully controlled, contaminant-free environments.
Can I verify a diamond certificate before purchasing?
Yes. Every diamond in our inventory includes its certificate number, which you can verify directly on the IGI or GIA website before placing an order. We also provide high-resolution certificate scans in each diamond's detail page when you're logged in. If you'd like to inspect a stone in person, you're welcome to visit our NYC or LA office by appointment.
Do you offer any quality guarantee?
Every diamond sold by Guru Diam is backed by our quality assurance commitment: if a stone does not match its certified specifications or the details presented in our inventory, we will replace it or issue a full refund. Our rigorous 10-step quality control process — from diamond seed preparation through final inspection — ensures consistency and accuracy across every stone we ship.
How do you ensure quality on finished jewelry pieces?
Every custom and private-label piece is inspected for stone setting, metal finish, and structural integrity before it ships. All gold and platinum pieces are stamped with the appropriate purity mark (14K, 18K, PT950, etc.) per industry standard, and any discrepancy from your approved design is corrected before delivery.
