Diamond Price Guides & Size Charts for the Trade

Diamond prices move with carat weight, color, clarity, cut and whether a diamond is natural or lab-grown. Our price guides take one weight at a time, from 0.5 carat up to 5 carats, and explain what drives the spread inside each size. Lab-grown and natural have separate guides because they price differently. Prices change often, so the guides explain how pricing works and what to check, and leave live numbers to our trade portal.

The size charts sit alongside them. Carat weight alone doesn't tell you how big a diamond looks, so the charts give millimeter sizes by shape and weight. For melee and small rounds, use the mm to carat charts in the melee guide.

The pricing section covers the business side: wholesale and retail markups for lab-grown and natural, how tariffs affect US inventory, how certification costs compare between labs, and how to talk about price with a customer choosing between lab-grown and natural. Approved trade accounts see live wholesale prices on our stock, and accounts submitted before 4 PM ET are approved the same business day.

There are natural guides at 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4 and 4.5 carats and a matching lab-grown set, so you can compare the two at the same weight. The market articles cover the Rapaport price list, price indexes and trends, rough diamond prices and colored diamond price charts. For retailers, the markup articles explain how to price lab-grown and natural at retail and how to answer questions about resale value. The cost articles look at what buying really costs: speculative stock against made to order, one vendor against several, and an in-house bench against outsourcing. The size charts also cover ring sizes, average engagement ring carat sizes, and the difference between carat and karat, which customers often mix up.

For current trade prices, see the Guru Diam Wholesale Price List (loose lab-grown diamonds, per carat) and our wholesale lab-grown jewelry prices (pendants, tennis necklaces, bracelets and studs).

Pricing a made to order piece? Our custom jewelry cost guide shows how CAD, gold by weight, setting and diamonds add up, and the custom jewelry manufacturing service covers turnaround.
