Old Miner guide: what defines the cut
- Cushion outline. A cushion shape with gently rounded corners. Our Old Miners have a typical length-to-width ratio of 1.46, so most are slightly elongated rather than square.
- Small table. The flat top facet is small compared with a modern cushion. The typical table on our Old Miners is 51% of the width.
- High crown. More height above the girdle: a typical crown angle of 36.4° and total depth of about 66.8%.
- Open culet. A small flat facet at the bottom, seen face-up as a small circle in the center.
